Would somebody, Somewhere, Make some Noise

Everyone in New Zealand knows this catchphrase from the New Zealand Master of Ring announcing, Daniel Hennessey aka Lt Dan. Before he became Lieutenant Dan who was the man behind the Microphone?

Daniel Hennessey born in Massachusetts USA was in the United States Marine Corps in 1991 and was a war veteran of the first Persian Gulf War, his Service ended in 1993. He moved to New Zealand in 1998 where he was a Club DJ.

Hennessey made a name for himself by DJing around the circuit and for Radio Hauraki with the stage name of “The Danimal”. He also had a job as VJ on Max TV which ended in 2002.

In 2003 he became a commentator for Sky TV, commentating mainly Basketball (mainly with the NZNBL) but he also did Netball, Baseball and other sports. His biggest accomplishment of his commentating career was 2012 Head commentator FIBA Under 19’s world champs. He finished working with Basketball in 2016 where he did the stats for the breakers seasons.

Hennessey did his first Ring announcing show for King of Oceania Kickboxing Tournament. Shortly after, he announced the 2006 World Grand Prix K1. A few years later he announced the biggest event of his career which at the time was highest views in PPV history, David Tua vs Shane Cameron.

And the rest you can say is history for Dan Hennessey. Now days Hennessey Lives on the North Shore in Auckland and almost always fully booked out every single weekend.

He is one of the most respected person in the Sporting community and is a genuine a nice guy. So again I say for Lt Dan
