Kiwi goes to the finals at Commonwealth Youth Games on Day 4
Day 4 of the Boxing tournament at the Commonwealth Youth Games in the Bahamas with a couple bronze won.
The first New Zealander to fight today was Kyle Ting Chen taking on British Aaron Patrick Bowen. This was Kyle’s 50th Amateur bout of his career. Unfortunately Kyle lost the bout by 4 – 1 Pts, however he still will be going home with a Bronze medal.
New Zealander Pelea Soara Fruean took on British Ella Jade Boot. It was a very close bout, however Fruean lost the bout but 3 – 2 Pts. Fruean still will be going home with a Bronze medal as well.
Samoan boxer Damien Vaughan took on Scottish Lewis Beggs Johnstone. Vaughan being the last person to represent Samoa unfortunately lost the bout by 5 – 0 Pts. Vaughan will be taking home the bronze medal.
The last New Zealander in the tournament Shylah Te Urang Waikai took on Scottish Megan Elizabeth Gordon. Waikai won by a landslide 5 – 0 Pts. This mean Waikai will be competing tomorrow for the gold against an Indian boxer which goes by the name of Jony.
