Another Guaranteed medal for Kiwi
Day Three of the Boxing Tournament in the Commonwealth Youth games and another New Zealander is guaranteed a medal.

Today New Zealander Pelea Soara Fruean took on British Sadie Thomas. Fruean won the bout by a landslide with 5 – 0 Pts. Fruean is the third New Zealander in a row to produce the same result with Kyle Ting Chen and Shylah Te Urang Waikai winning their bouts yesterday. Tomorrow the three New Zealanders will be competing in the semi finals, however win or lose they are all guaranteed a bronze medal at least.
As for Samoan boxers, Marion Ah Tong unfortunately lost his bout against Northern Ireland Anthony Johnston. Damien Vaughan won his bout against Tyron Thomas. Vaughan is now the last Samoan boxer in the tournament but he is guaranteed a medal.

This will be Kyle’s 50th amateur bout in his boxing career. He is also one of youngest member on the New Zealand Commonwealth team and youngest boxer competing. Chen has been boxing with a flu type infection since arriving into the Bahamas, but its been reported that he been feeling much better.
