Heads, talking

The first edition of TV3’s The Nation aired today, and is online here. There is a good extended interview with David Cunliffe, and a story about how Labour plans to win, in which I have a few grabs.

My only concern with the Cunliffe interview was that so much time was spent exploring post-election coalition minutae, which I’m sure Paddy knew no leader was going to get into on live TV before the election had been held. That left precious little time to discuss Labour’s wide-ranging plans to improve life for New Zealand families, which I think is a shame. I hope that as people prepare to go to the polls this year, we insiders can resist our normal temptation to treat politics as a game of “I know you are but what am I” and instead help New Zealanders understand how the choices they face will impact their lives for years to come.
